Materials & profile

Choose the roof.
Understand the tradeoffs.

Three familiar material families, shown as illustrations. Suitability depends on your home, local requirements and the specific product—not appearance alone.

The unseen details matter

A roof relies on coordinated water-management layers and flashing, not just the visible covering. Ask how transitions, valleys, walls and penetrations will be handled. The replacement scope should name those details.

Color and reflectivity can affect heat absorption, but energy performance depends on climate, the product and the building. Ask for product-specific evidence rather than assuming a material automatically delivers energy savings.

Bring these questions to your provider

  • Is this product suitable for my roof slope, structure and local conditions?
  • What do the installation documents and local requirements call for?
  • What upkeep and repair access will this system require?
  • What exact product and workmanship warranty terms are included, if any?
  • How will a material change affect the full project scope?

Compare complete systems, not just swatches.

Use the same scope when gathering written proposals.
